A classic American garment most associated with lumberjack workwear and the '90s street scene, flannel shirt is one essential layering option that withstands the constant shifts of tide in fashion trends. From our latest essential highlights, we have curated four flannel shirt pieces with contemporary interpretations by labels including Acne Studios, Lanvin, Burberry and McQ Alexander McQueen.
From the Acne Studios Fall/Winter 2019 Collection, the Quilted Overshirt takes on the classic Red-Black color theme and garnish the piece with subtle onion stitch quilting details. Made primarily from cotton, the piece retains the conventional silhouette with a relaxing fit. Elsewhere, Lanvin experiments the check pattern into the Hooded Long Overshirt. Replacing the button-up closure for press-snap closures near the neck, the shirt is finished with details such as the chest pocket and curved hem.
Now a fashion classic and heritage, the Burberry Check has gone through eras of iterations. From the latest season, the signature beige color scheme is swapped for light blue on the Chambers Check Shirt, with pointed collar crafted with supreme quality. Our last selected piece is the McQ Alexander McQueen Rollins Flannel Shirt. Inspired by the ‘90s tribal rave culture and band graphics, bright yellow text reading "Earth Force Sound" is emblazoned to the back of the dark grey flannel shirt.
