In this inaugural collection of Diesel Red Tag projects, Shayne Oliver looked to the rich heritage of denim and the archive of Diesel as reference points for his romantic interpretation of the worker’s blue. Jeans with double waistbands, oversized shirt with denim tie, and back-to-front jacket with detachable collar; there is a sense of confidence and certainty in the way Oliver employs the sharp and expressive cuts and layering. The idea is to return sensuality and relevance to the historic yet often overlooked material.
