Patrik Ervell
Patrik Ervell is a California-raised Swedish designer known for his modernist, utilitarian aesthetics and careful attention to garment details. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a multidisciplinary degree in political science, economics and international relations, Ervell moved to New York where his career path took a totally unrelated turn into fashion. In 2005, he started his eponymous label and has since earned himself multiple CFDA awards as one of the best new menswear designers. Each season's collection consists of a variety of unconventional fabrics, thoughtful silhouettes and a cohesive theme that is explained through the pieces. Custom field coat. PATRIK ERVELL debuted in 2006 at the store Opening Ceremony in New York as one of the first designers carried there. Ervell is noted for his use of innovative and unusual fabrics including gold foil, vintage parachutes, fabrics died with oxidized iron and copper, handmade rubber raincoats, horsehair, and most recently splash-dyed silks. His designs are characterized as utilitarian, minimal and elegant. No stranger to accolades, PATRIK ERVELL was selected in 2007 as a winner of the Ecco Domani Award for Menswear. Since then, Patrik has been nominated three times for the CFDA’s Swarovski Award for Menswear – in 2008, 2009 and 2010, and for CFDA Menswear Designer of the year in both 2011 and 2012.
