During one of what would become many frequent trips to Los Angeles, Moncler art director Francesco Ragazzi began photographing the skateboarders of Venice Beach. An image of an angelic skater suspended midair in a halo of sunlight would inspire Palm Angels, and become the genesis of a movement that captures the rugged grace of L.A. skate culture.
The Palm Angels FW17 collection was heavily inspired by his own story, looking back to his youth in the 90s. His concept was the idea of a Wall Street guys losing his job, decamps to the West Coast and tries to forget his old life through his new lifestyle.
Art director Francesco Ragazzi started Palm Angels in 2011 as a photographic documentation of LA's skate culture. As a fashion label that aims to bridge the gap between luxury and streetwear, Palm Angels stems from an Italian take on American culture and subcultures. Palm Angels is essentially a vision, merging an appreciation for sartorial codes and a joy for fabric with a proclivity for using clothing as identity tropes and cultural signifiers. The label has formed various partnerships with prominent brands including Nike, Moncler, SUICOKE and Billionaire Boys Club, to name a few. Ragazzi’s designs are also frequently favored by the likes of celebrities including Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, Gigi Hadid, Future and Lewis Hamilton. Shop Palm Angels
