Drawing inspiration from the medieval fortified gate, the Portcullis, which played a prominent role in British and French castles during medieval Europe, MAD and Hatton Labs have utilized fortress-inspired caging to represent resilience, while delicate design features exude appreciation for a fragile and beautiful aesthetic.
MAD's avant-garde vision, combined with Hatton Labs' expertise in advanced construction and materials, has brought to fruition a modern and advanced interpretation of the Royal Oak 37mm timepiece. Through experimentation, the duo discovered the captivating technique of setting diamonds in an irregular upside-down fashion, thus creating diamond spikes. Such innovation showcases the subtle balance between tradition and advanced engineering that both brands are renowned for.
The Portcullis is adorned with 20 signature white pyramid-cut diamonds on the bracelet, while the bezel features 40 signature white pyramid baguette diamonds. Its custom mirror-polished dial with green hand-painted hands on the case is visible through its reflection on the mirror face, adding a touch of allure. Rounding off this exquisite piece is a sea-foam green signature pyramid-cut sapphire on the crown of the watch.
