Over the summer, Hypebeast had exclusive access to Stone Island's Ravarino HQ, where they were exposed to its extensive archives, alumni, designers, and famous dyeing labs. The result? A limited-edition magazine that commemorates the Italian brand's 40th anniversary.
Continuing its line of cult publications including Storia and Archivo, the latest issue titled "Famiglia" explores the unity of a family -- an ethos ingrained into Stone Island's identity for the last four decades.
"For us Italians, Famiglia is a pillar on which the country can survive."
Carlo Rivetti, CEO Stone Island
Through interviews with important alumni like acclaimed designer Paul Harvey, technical expert Andrea Moro, and Rivetti himself, the latest features dive into Stone Island's lasting impact on fashion, football, and music. Meanwhile, a retrospective on Paninari and profiles of prolific collectors shed light on the brand's subcultural history and reflect the communities dedicated to cataloging its legacy.
Further down the spread, microscope photography and scans of fabrics, archival material from vaults, and newly short reportage highlight Stone Island's renowned garment-making process in high-tech material development labs known as la Tintoria.
The magazine covers treated with a mirror-like hi-gloss finish are embossed with "FAMIGLIA," coordinates of Stone Island’s Ravarino HQ, and the brand's 82//22 anniversary logo.
The Hypebeast x Stone Island Famiglia Magazine is now available via HBX, Stone Island stores, and select retailers.
