If we look through the rich history of the punk aesthetic and its style evolution, with its plaid pants, leather jackets and DIY lifestyle, most tropes would point at the early adoption of a humble pair of Doc's. And after numerous iterations, re-issues and new colorways surfacing over the years, the classic footwear staple still maintains its distinctive mould. This time around, Dr. Martens and the LA-label PLEASURES collaborate for a special capsule, fusing elements of design codes from punk and grunge.
Two silhouettes are co-produced: the Quad Retro and 1461. The latter is detailed with motifs of white teeth resembling an open-jaw; emblazoned at the heel is the word “NOW”. Inspired by the rebellious spirit of late '90s-era anti-establishment music, the Quad Retro features tribal graphics, studs and checkerboard laces. Both styles are decorated with white prints over a black base.
