Continuing the progressive partnership between adidas Originals and Hender Scheme, the latest Fall/Winter 2018 collaboration sees an artisanal interpretation of the iconic ZX 500 silhouette alongside a slew of new accessories. Led by Kashiwazaki, the Japanese atelier focused on creating a shoe that would manifest the craft of leather-making while staying true to the sports-driven designs of the original 1984 model. The result is the HS ZX 500 RM: handcrafted with vegetable-tanned leathers and modern tech details that perform well, even under high temperatures and humidity.
Presented are two variations of the model, with each one fixed atop a contemporary BOOST sole. The first: A full, premium raw leather made with zero post-processing that will develop unique patinas over time based on wear. The second version comes in two colors made hybrid by its two-leather construction and mesh underlay. Its pigment-treated leather appears naturally-wrinkled with a crepe-like finish while a special pull-chord lacing system is added to the design. Other accessories like the mesh-lined cap and utility bags round out the concise assemblage.
