Stone Island Shadow Project's 10-year anniversary collection "6919" presents an assemblage of pieces that drive the progressive energy of the Shadow Project line. Innovative design solutions and extensive fabric research have been realized under the creative direction of Errolson Hugh, who aimed to refine the concepts of utility, nuance and experimentation.
Adding to Shadow Project's minimalist aesthetic, usual branding elements are replaced by special graphics and motifs for this collection only. Among the range of jackets, sweaters, vests and shirts, the 40502 Encase Panel Down Jacket is the item of focus in this release. The 40502 Encase Panel Down Jacket incorporates two newly developed technologies that underline the commemorative collection: The reflective SCARABEO material and anti-drop NASLAN LIGHT fabric.

Its dynamic iridescent effects change in relation to the environment while remaining water and stain repellent for practicality. A defining step of the creation process involves micro-glass bead coatings that are printed over the surface of a thick polyester base.

The rest of the textiles on the jacket is made up of the new NASLAN LIGHT garment treatment - a single-layer fabric dyed with an anti-drop agent. Its mechanically spun plain-weave nylon makes the fabric light, durable and abrasion resistant altogether. Steamed during the spinning stage of development, the nylon fibers exhibit a soft texture for a more organic hand-feel. While made comfortable to touch, its density also makes the garment highly breathable in various contexts. In the final stage, the garment is treated through a special anti-drop formula rounded off with optimal water and dirt repellency.

Some other noteworthy details of the 40502 can be seen in its detachable panels and 10-year anniversary embroidery. The jacket features a detachable hood with a stand-up collar that is lined with a SCARABEO visor. Panels at both sides of the waist are secured by Velcro® tapes that overlap the front. Duo-set standing pockets: at the front of the jacket and over the encase panels, equipped with zipper hardware. To round out the functional piece, the Stone Island Shadow Project emblem can be found inside with a special "10 YEARS" embroidery, while removable two-snap shoulder sections are included for those who wish to wear the piece half closed.
