Introducing: Off-White™ Fall/Winter 2018 Collection

Following the recent appointment as Louis Vuitton Artistic Director of Menswear, Virgil Abloh seems more eager than ever to recontextualize the sphere of high-end fashion to one that's more accessible. Dubbed "Business Casual", the designer reels back through his childhood imaginations for the inspiration behind the Off-White™ Fall/Winter 2018 collection. As a child, Virgil's imagined idea of a successful adult looked much different than he's wearing today, stating at his Paris show "My future was like White picket fence and a dog. I thought I might be carrying a briefcase". As Off-White™'s diverse following expands more and more, the distinction between "high" and "low" fashion feels less dividing.
The Off-White™ Fall/Winter 2018 Collection sees a range of GORE-TEX fabrics and other technical details worked into classic streetwear silhouettes. A standout piece is the Off-White™ GORE-TEX Pants which features the iconic cross and arrows motif at the right leg while GORE-TEX branding appears on the left with the words "PRODUCT TESTING” inscribed below. The GORE-TEX T-shirt follows a similar design approach where GORE-TEX branding appears at the front while “OUTDOOR USE ONLY” is shown at the bottom; a diagram of the breathable GORE-TEX membrane is shown at the back. Other highlights include the Off-White™ Quote Puffer Jacket with "DOWN JACKET" printed at the back and at the left pocket. Other pieces display a colorful range of purple, magenta and blue gradients on various hoodies and T-shirts in the label's logo; the Denim Jacket is a standout piece graced by the recurring motif. Alongside deconstructed sneakers, other accessories like hats, bags, wallets and masks round out the collection.
