Alpha Industries has always been a pioneer in the outerwear space, but this season the brand has focused on revitalizing two heritage silhouettes - the American bomber jacket and the Japanese souvenir jacket, also known as the sukajan. Taking the iconic MA-1 military bomber jacket, which has transitioned from technical wear to fashion staple in recent years, Alpha Industries reflects the garment’s American Heritage with commemorative patches of the American flag, NASA and the Apollo 11 space mission. The brand’s iteration of the sukajan is a nod to the Japanese’s customization of US military jackets at the end of World War II - the Shinto souvenir jacket is crafted from silken color-blocked fabric, and features imagery of Japanese deities embroidered all over.
