Toronto-based brand The Common-Folk specializes in blending historical Japanese silhouettes and fabrics with modern design sensibilities. Founded by Joseph Azulay, the brand works closely with Japanese fabric mills and denim brands, with a focus on highlighting traditional textile craftsmanship such as the shuttle loom weaving and indigo dyeing processes.
Inspired by the Yukata, traditionally an underjacket, this garment features iconic features of the design such as the crossover front and slanted collar. Crafted from lightweight cotton denim with a tiger camo print, the jacket is accented with hidden selvedge ties in the interior.
