Nike Originally known as Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS), Nike, was founded by University of Oregon track athlete Phil Knight in 1964. What began as Knight selling running shoes out of the trunk of his car, the Nike brand has since grown to become one of the most internationally recognised brands today.
