Maison Margiela is a Paris-based fashion house founded in 1988 by Martin Margiela. The brand is best known for its progressive aesthetic and unique approach to deconstructing, reinventing, and redefining men’s and womenswear. It is a design philosophy that permeates into a wide range of ready-to-wear items such as T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, and crewnecks, as well as other complementary items such as bags, small leather goods, and shoes. Currently, Maison Margiela is headed by the four-time winner of British Designer of the Year, couturier John Galliano. Galliano has also served as the head designer at various French fashion companies, including Givenchy, Christian Dior, and his own label, John Galliano.
