Julien David

Born in Paris in 1978, Julien David moved to New York at age 19 where he attended Parsons School of Design. While a student, he began working for Narciso Rodriguez on soft pieces and eventually became his direct design assistant for the following three years. He then joined Ralph Lauren as a Designer in charge of tailored pieces for the Ladies Purple Label Collection. In 2006, Julien moved to Tokyo where he started doing freelance assignments and a year later, founded his own company in Japan. Julien combined materials such as silk, cashmere, specially developed wool; then use contemporary matters, sub culture and street culture as references. The entire fabrication takes place in Japan with master silk makers and tailors from specific prefectures. His Collections are currently carried in shops such as Colette, Browns and Isetan as well as speciality stores, Blake in Chicago, Happy Shop in Berlin, Super A Market in Tokyo, Minority Rev in Fukuoka and Atelier 1 in Kiev. In 2012, after only 4 Fashion shows in Paris, Julien was awarded the very prestigious Andam Grand Prix and was able to beneficiate from a one year mentorship by LVMH.
