Next to it sits the XT-4 Mules in Vanilla Ice/Gibraltar Sea/Sweet Pea, a slip-on spin on the same shape, and the Cross Dust in Vanilla Ice/Eucalyptus, an entirely new model with a shrouded, protective upper that MM6 calls a meeting point between high fashion and rugged performance. Every pair still carries MM6's circled number, the one detail that's followed this collab since day one.
XT-6
The XT-6 wasn't built for fashion. It launched in 2013 as an S/LAB model, made for people running absurd distances on hard terrain, lightweight, quick-lace, cushioned for miles nobody should really be running. Then it relaunched under Sportstyle in 2018 and stylists got hold of it, pulling it straight off the trail and into editorial shoots, front rows, and eventually just about every sneaker rotation worth paying attention to.
XT-Whisper and Neuva Advanced
These two sit further out on Salomon's more experimental end. The XT-Whisper comes in Nocturne Vision, Black/Castlerock/Ftw Silver, stripped back and aerodynamic in a way the XT-6 never really goes for. The Neuva Advanced, in Sedona Sage/Metal/Ice Flow, follows a similar idea, lighter, sleeker, less trail, more sci-fi. Both still carry GORE-TEX weatherproofing where it counts. Salomon clearly isn't betting everything on two silhouettes here.
The Big Picture
What ties all four of these together is that none of them abandon what made Salomon reliable to begin with. The MM6 collaboration pushes furthest into new territory with the Cross Dust, but it still runs on the same trail-built logic as everything else here. The XT-6 carries that same lineage in its most recognizable form. The XT-Whisper and Neuva Advanced round things out, proof that Salomon's design language stretches well beyond its most famous silhouette.
