Explore Marine Serre's Take on Post-Apocalyptic Fashion
[socials/]
Marine Serre furthers her futuristic concept of post-apocalypse with sustainability-focused efforts for Spring/Summer 2020 collection, titled “Marée Noire” (“Black Tide” in French). Known for her eco-futurism in design and production which approximately half of her FW19 staples crafted from upcycled materials, Serre continues that approach with more graphics-heavy elements for this season. The range encompasses an expansive array of reimagined iterations of Serre's iconic crescent moon silhouette including logomania tops, leggings, and small accessories, black jumpsuits and jackets which referenced the oil that hastens environmental shifts, alongside a slew of vintage, regenerated T-shirts in black and green colorways. Serre offers avant-garde designs with her unique and recognizable aesthetic each season, one notable piece is the sought-after Moon Top which updated in three-dimensional moon prints throughout. The top is seen paired with the Cyclist Bib/Catsuit which features laser-cut edges and rear zip fastening. Elsewhere, the Crewneck Jacquard Sweater contrasted with all-over motifs in yellow and can be worn with the Jersey Leggings and Flower Print Midi Skirt for a cutting-edge touch. While the leggings are constructed from elastic waistband with ribbed brand letterings, the skirt sees patchwork detailings with zip pockets at the back.

Inspired by sporting tracksuits designs, the matching Bomber Jacket and Straight Pants are made from luxury fabric, moire, in Serre's "post-sportswear", illusory style. Contrasted with green and white stitching, the outerwear comes with a rubberized logo patch at the left sleeve and the bottom arrives with zips at ankle cuffs. Rounding out the range with a concise lineup of logo-laden accessories in varied hues including the chockers, wristbands and headbands. While the Small Ball Bag is crafted from an actual gymnastic ball with moon-trim zippers, the Bob Hat is made from upcycled leather with a moon motif on the front.
