Having showed earlier this year at Paris Fashion Week, and at Piti Uomo alongside UNDERCOVER last year, die-hard fans of the elusive Japanese designer Takahiro Miyashita have been excited to see his designs back on the runway after a mysteriously long hiatus. This time around, the Japanese label returns for a distinctive collaboration with Converse: Converse x TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. ERX 260 Hi "Black".
Donned in triple black, the Converse ERX 260 Hi, which is well regarded as a classic basketball silhouette, has been tweaked with gloomy tones, remoulding the sneaker under a uniquely punk-inspired context. The uppers are made up of black leather with premium suede running along its lateral sides and upper eyelets. An embroidered tongue that reads "I AM THE SOLOIST. Since 2010" peers over a removable zipped lace guard running through the middle of the shoe. And below all the laces and the leather uppers is the translucent sole, made in part with overlapping sidewalls; at the bottom of the outsole reads “Hello, Hello, Hello, I Am The Soloist.” Other details like its perforated toe box, "CONS" branding at the heel and the suede star completes the Converse classic.
