Since YEENJOY’s debut in 2012, the label has been amassing a cult following with their creative renditions of ceramic incense burners, moulding for example, tributes of the Acronym x NikeLab Air Presto Mid, Star Wars Storm Troopers and even Majin Buu from DragonBall Z. They’ve been known to uproot the age-old tradition of Chinese pottery and embed it with their take on contemporary street culture— some techniques being used date all the way back to the Ming Dynasty. While preserving a sense of heritage, celebrated icons of modern pop culture are shaped into artistic porcelain figures.
This year, YEENJOY unveils a limited edition Lunar New Year incense chamber release celebrating the "Year of the Pig". The ceramic ware takes the form of a winged pig to commemorate this year's zodiac sign. Design details include a hollow storage unit at the base, multiple smoke holes found throughout the body, including the snout. Shades of cobalt paint bring out ultra-fine details that pay tribute to the traditional craft of ceramics— a final glaze treatment accentuates the qualities of this glistening piece.
