HBX 2019 Bestsellers
[socials/]Before moving forward to the New Year, we are taking a look back at the best collaborations launched on HBX in 2019. Bringing together different signature aesthetics of labels and designers, these collaborations celebrate the return of many pre-existing partnerships, while seeing a number of ground-breaking efforts that brought forth the most contemporary pieces.
7 MONCLER FRAGMENT HIROSHI FUJIWARA
In a fashion climate dominated by streetwear, 7 MONCLER FRAGMENT HIROSHI FUJIWARA rises above, bringing Moncler on a journey into different subcultures and combining their codes with the brand’s unmistakable DNA. Tweaking vintage, military, urban and tech references, Fujiwara knows how to turn the ordinary into the cult-like: adorning bold lettering and mysterious slogans onto clean, functional pieces. Aviator references mix with Mod nods and cartoon touches, while accessories provide further functionality. “Moncler Genius is the opportunity to mix different identities into a new one. It allowed me to test solutions and materials I have never used. The result is an unreleased Hiroshi, but it is also an unreleased Moncler,” says Fujiwara.

Brain Dead x The North Face
After the recent A.P.C. collaboration, Brain Dead returns for another join effort with outerwear giant The North Face. Centered around expedition, the special range draws from TNF’s heritage and introduces an expression of expedition dominated by psychedelic motifs and colors. “With this collaboration, we wanted to reimagine the concept of the expedition as more of a state of mind. Adventure through ideas,” said Kyle Ng, founder of the Los Angeles-based creative collective of artists and designers.
mastermind JAPAN x C2H4
C2H4‘s imaginative world of sci-fi and digital dystopia is manifested in the latest collaboration with mastermind JAPAN. The C2H4 x mastermind JAPAN “TX-074” collection is comprised of futuristic garbs inspired by C2H4 Robotics — a fictional sci-tech maker of super AI and skull robots. Its prototype “TX-074”, aka “The Mastermind”, is rendered in a series of graphics over T-shirts, hoodies, track pants, utility shirts, caps, bags, masks and more.

Valentino x UNDERCOVER
Debuted on the Paris Fashion Week runway in January, the Valentino Fall/Winter 2019 collection highlights an extraordinary collaboration with Japanese streetwear label UNDERCOVER. Savant of cultural references, Jun Takahashi has brought space-age prints and UFO imagery to amalgamate with the couture fashion of Pierpaolo Piccioli. Titled “Past and Future”, a range of thigh-length coats, pullover parkas and slouchy slacks are executed in neutral-toned wool and technical textiles, with a number of graphic T-shirts and accessories.
Palm Angels x Under Armour
Adding to the Palm Angels Spring/Summer 2019 Collection entitled “Recovery”, the Recovery Capsule in collaboration with Under Armour is now being delivered. The assortment encompasses a range of sporty pieces that employs a responsive textile in partnership with Celliant, while retaining Palm Angels’ signature streetwear aesthetics. The material absorbs heat produced by the body and re-emits as infrared energy to speed up muscle recovery — a nod to the collection title and inspiration.
