Debuted on the Paris Fashion Week runway in January, the Valentino Fall/Winter 2019 collection highlights an extraordinary collaboration with Japanese streetwear label UNDERCOVER. Savant of cultural references, Jun Takahashi has brought space-age prints and UFO imagery to amalgamate with the couture fashion of Pierpaolo Piccioli. Titled "Past and Future", a range of thigh-length coats, pullover parkas and slouchy slacks are executed in neutral-toned wool and technical textiles, with a number of graphic T-shirts and accessories.
As one of the recurring motif of the collection, the Valentino V symbol is incorporated to the graphic of musician Beethoven seeing other iterations with UFO imagery and rose prints. Highlighting the VVV Print Down Jacket, the motif is printed throughout the piece, while featured in bold on the Collaboration Long Coat. Other highlighted items include the Logo Blouson, UFO Hoodie and the Patch Skull Cross Body Bag.
