London based designer Alexandra Hackett, aka MiniSwoosh, returns with her Fall/Winter 2019 collection for ALCH. With Hackett’s dedication to minimizing waste, all her pieces are made with upcycled and functional materials with streetwear designs. Heavily inspired by the textures, motifs and visuals can be found in daily urban commute around London, the latest FW19 range features mimicking indented patterns of manhole covers with fluorescent orange accents.
Demonstrating unconventional clothing production methods, highlighted first is the Polyethylene Padded Gilet which dressed in an eye-catching metallic silver hue. Matching the vest are the Merino Wool Skin and Zip-Off Reusable Bag Track Pants. While the top sees mesh panels at sides and back, alongside the label’s motif at the collar, the bottom is constructed from zipped panels and comes with a detachable bag that can be zipped as a part of the pants for an edgier aesthetic. Another highlight is the Cropped Half-zip Jumper. Arrived in a bold orange hue, the mock-neck design contrasts with rib-knit prints throughout and a front half-zip closure. Layering atop the jumper is the Zip-Off Reusable Bag Shirt made with zipped panels. Completing the look is the Logo Print Sweatpants. Emblazoned with all-over patterns in white, the bottom is detailed with elastic drawcord waistband and cuffs. Rounding out the range is the logo-laden Yoga Mat with a webbing shoulder strap that can be easily paired with all your activewear looks.
