John Galliano returns with his Fall/Winter 2019 Collection for Maison Margiela, dubbed "Défilé". Focusing on comfort and minimal aesthetic in contrast to the overload of digital images and stimuli, the theme also resonates with the Reality Inverse short film that Galliano produced with SHOWstudio earlier this year. Encompassing a wide array of reimagined classic and familiar pieces, from avant-garde outerwear and knitwear to the French luxury fashion house’s signature Glam Slam Crossbody Bag and updated iterations of Tabi footwear, alongside a slew of statement-making wardrobe staples from Maison Margiela‘s diffusion label MM6. Highlighted first is the Glam Slam Crossbody Bag. Constructed from eye-catching holographic goat leather with poly lining, the carry-all features an adjustable and detachable shoulder strap, alongside the label's iconic number patch on the front. Pairing the bag are the matching Inside Out Denim Jacket and Jeans from MM6 Maison Margiela. Both pieces come with a faded bleached wash design and contrasting orange-hued stitching.
For colder days ahead, opt for the Dyed Cardigan with rib knit construction. The grey silhouette can be mixed and matched with MM6's Inside-Out Wool Blend Pants and Strap Chunky Boots for an edgier aesthetic. Rounding out with more fashion-forward pieces such as the Trench Coat and Woven Dress. Detailed with contrasting stitching in red and cut out details at the collar, the coat features side hand pockets and back slit hem. The one-piece sees a round neck, raw edges and viscose panel throughout.
