Following the most recent collaboration between Converse and Brain Dead, the LA design collective unveils yet another vibrant twist on a classic shoe, this time with the Chuck Taylor '70 One Star.
The Brain Dead x Converse One Star is a multi-patterned mash-up of classic prints that displays Converse's rich heritage with each vivid panel. The reimagined sneaker is mostly made up of beige and monochromatic tones. Featured patterns include Zebra, leopard and polka dots that grace the sneaker's lateral and medial sides as well as its tongue and heel. The material fabric is vintage, too, boasting a brushed suede-like hand-feel that exudes an element of nostalgia. Text embellishments appear around the uppermost region of the midsole: “To See And Be Seen As Far As The Eye Can See,” “Who Controls The Control Men” and “The Same Elsewhere.” Rounding out the sneaker is muted cream-colored lacing and sole that offsets the wild graphics.
