LOEWE x Paula's Ibiza: Close to Paradise
In an exclusive short film, LOEWE unveils its Spring/Summer 2018 "Paula's Ibiza" Capsule Collection next to a few Ibizan figures who have played a part in shaping the island's coastal lifestyle; Armin Heinemann makes an appearance, too. Accompanied by ambient music from Belgian DJ duo Soulwax, each person tells their recollections of Ibiza during the '70s and the paradisal heydays of the diverse Bohemian community.
Informed by the modern-day design aesthetics of Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson, the short film presents a range of prints that have been taken directly from Armin Heinemann's archives and recontextualized for today. Bright pop-colors, glossy sequin, all-over prints and soft pastels are seen in layered garbs of intricate patchworking. Mythical mermaids and circus characters, polka dots, beach motifs, and cartoon hummingbirds are detailed in nearly every grain of fabric while "LOEWE" logomania appears throughout the capsule in delicate leather.
