Oftentimes, the names, Pharrell and Billionaire Boys Club, are thought to be synonymous. In the early days, back when the likes of Nigo, Sk8thing, Jay-Z and Kanye West were involved; after several design evolutions and business transitions, the fledgling label has been instrumental in giving the streetwear world a foothold into mainstream culture and fashion. This time around, Pharrell invites us to visit his take on the NMD Hu model that's reminiscent of Ivy heritage and collegiate uniform colors: BBC x adidas Originals NMD Hu "Heart/Mind".
The sneaker is emblazoned diagonally across the shoe are stripes of red, white and navy. A standout feature is the words "Heart" and "Mind" embroidered along the Primeknit uppers — a reference to BBC's slogan "Wealth is of the Heart and Mind, not the pocket." Other details like the tonal ankle-piping, lacing cage and EVA-plugs help frame the bold colors, while a black outsole and crisp Boost sole round out the collaborative sneaker.
