Having only started last year in April, GALLERY 909 has somehow gained its foothold within the streetwear landscape, showing unique perspectives on the human form. In an earlier lookbook, Gosha and Kanye West collaborator, Julian Klincewicz is seen outfitted in multiple styles, while Frank Ocean can be spotted wearing a T-shirt in the latest 032c issue. Scott Watts, the founder and 21-year-old creative, sets his base in New York City as site of inspiration.
City-as-muse is key to the Big Apple native. Home to a diverse population and 24/7 lifestyle, spanning hyper-subversive skateboarding youths, to active urban office professionals rushing to get to where they need to be, GALLERY 909 takes cues from the myriad personas the city breeds. The brand presents itself as a synthesis of everything from tech to skate; to punk and goth, as well as music and nightlife. The result is a striking examination of form and function.
