Nearly 25 years ago, Polo Sport Ralph Lauren released its SNOW BEACH collection as part of a limited-edition release that would shift the visual language of the brand that we know today. Incidentally, it was that very same year in '93 that Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon wore the infamous multi-colored pullover in the Can It Be All So Simple music video — an early reflection of how the heritage label would dramatically enter the ever-evolving streetwear lexicon.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of its SNOW BEACH imprint, Polo Ralph Lauren is re-releasing the limited edition collection. From its original '93 debut, this coming collection will be packing a slew of updated designs dubbed as the "Color" capsule, alongside a bonus line-up of monochromatic silhouettes in the "Black & White" capsule.
Notable highlights in the "Color" capsule include the iconic yellow, red and navy pullover famously worn by Raekwon; in addition, the red SNOW BEACH vest, bucket hat and Cold Wave fitted are included in the mix. The updated pieces draw from its original signature SNOW BEACH aesthetic, reinterpreted with modern performance technology, while color-blocked SNOW BEACH rugbys, ponchos and bags round out the collection.
The "Black & White" capsule reinvents the original collection in a modern, tonal palette. Key features spotlight the double-knit tech rugby with woven patches, a water-resistant and insulated micro-ripstop nylon poncho and a camp hat with lettering in high-density prints.
Stay tuned to find out more on the release times.
