Created by Alex James of Publish Brand, LA-based streetwear label Pleasures is a significantly edgier counterpart to its founder’s first venture. The brand draws inspiration from punk, metal and grunge music cultures, and is notorious for designing a graphic tee printed with Kurt Cobain’s suicide note - a move that incited controversy within the fashion and music communities. This season, Pleasures continues with a bold selection of printed tees, hoodies, coach jackets and caps in a collection titled “Version 4.0.” Inspired by the time period from 1994-1998, this collection includes multiple references to cult classic films and punk iconography of that time. Signature pieces of the collection include a hoodie emblazoned with a Nirvana lyric that reads, “It’s okay to eat fish because they don’t have feelings.” This, alongside an anorak that proclaims “The World Sucks” on the back. Perfect for revealing your inner nihilist.
