ACRONYM’s Errolson Hugh and @itsnothingknew Karl Nikolai donate personal collectibles for Food Apartheid
All profits from this giveaway will be donated to Suprmarkt's operating costs to help support their activity in battling food apartheid.
In an effort to raise awareness and funds for the battle against food apartheid, we have partnered with ACRONYM’s Errolson Hugh and @itsnothingknew’s Karl Nikolai to organize a charity giveaway for SÜPRMARKT, a low cost organic grocery servicing low income communities in LA.
The friendship between Errolson and Karl is one that was founded on the common love and passion for technical apparel. Through ACRONYM’s community, Errolson and Karl have come together to empower communities battling food apartheid. We sat down with Errolson and Karl to talk about their favorite pieces and why they decided to donate for the cause.

SÜPRMARKT has a mission dedicated to make health and healing available to the communities that need it most. Olympia Auset founded SÜPRMARKT in July 2016, and since then has provided over 70,000 pounds of organic vegetables, fruits and seeds affordably to the communities across LA. South Central LA has a population of 1.3 million people, but only has 60 grocery stores. Because of this, South Central residents are 3 times as likely to die from preventable diseases like diabetes. SÜPRMARKT provides consistent access to affordable organics in weekly at cost grocery pop-ups which accept EBT. Their non-profit foundation SÜPRSEED creates engaging and culturally relevant experiences which encourage sustainable vegan living, including, workshops, giveaways, and South Central's first ever Vegan Festival: SÜPRFEST
The J1A-GTKP was a 2020 collaboration between ACRONYM’s Errolson Hugh and “Death Stranding”, a game produced by Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions, featuring graphics and details designed by Yoji Shinkawa (lead artist of Kojima Productions). This successful release combined premium technical outerwear craftsmanship with the artistic storytelling behind post-cataclysmic action game, “Death Stranding”, thus making it an extremely desirable piece for ACRONYM and gaming enthusiasts worldwide. For our charity giveaway, Errolson not only has donated his personal J1A-GTKP but has also added a 1 of 1, collectible spec sheet, autographed by Hideo Kojima, Yoji Shinkawa and Errolson Hugh, himself.
The J1E-GT release was a limited edition, experimental design of the classic J1A jacket, the first ever jacket designed by ACRONYM. This J1E is a J1A with new design features such as a HD16 ‘field cover type' convertible and removable hood, TensionZipae flak and chest pockets and lower bi-lateral rearward catch pockets. Being only an early 2020 subnet release, this jacket was not available for purchase to the main public, thus making this a special opportunity to win this piece. Errolson and Karl have both donated their personal J1E-GTs, making two units of this rare and special jacket available exclusively for this charity giveaway.
To commemorate the creation of the J1A jacket, ACRONYM released a zine showcasing the complete specifications of every J1A released to date. The zine was designed by David Rudnick with photographs by Phillip Koll, featuring the magnetic cover closure with detailed descriptions of all 15 versions of the J1A. It was the first publication by ACRONYM with only 300 copies available worldwide. Errolson personally autographed his Z1-J1A, making this already collectible zine even more of a gem, available for this giveaway.
ACRONYM x Nike Air Vapormax F&F Chrome
The relationship between Nike and ACRONYM dates all the way back to 2014 when Errolson Hugh was onboarded to reinvent ACG under NikeLab. This soon gave birth to many famous Nike x ACRONYM sneaker releases that we know of today. In 2018, ACRONYM and Nike released the Air VaporMax FK Moc 2 collection, which introduced the ‘ACRONYM’ word-mark-inspired camouflage print. Errolson shares with us the friends and family version of this shoe, showcasing the never-before-released chrome sole iteration of the Air Vapormax. The chrome is meant to crack and age over time as an intentional design feature and is exclusively available via this charity giveaway.
Tom Sachs x Nike Mars yard Overshoe
This unique shoe is a piece from Errolson’s personal sneaker collection, generously donated in support of the charity giveaway. After its release in May 2019, this sneaker has created a lot of hype and demand, thanks to its unique, futuristic design by renowned artist Tom Sachs. This shoe features a functional waterproof nylon-reinforced outer shell as it is inspired by wet March weather. An already highly-sought after piece for sneaker collectors, this specific pair carries even more sentiment and value as it is from Errolson’s personal collection.
How to participate
You can participate in supporting the cause by donating through clicking on the “Donate Now” button below. In return, for each $20 USD donated, giveaway entry vouchers will be allotted that can later be used to enter for a chance to win a piece from Errolson and Karl’s personal collection.
Once the donation is made, you will receive an email invitation with instructions on how to enter for a chance to win a giveaway piece from Errolson and Karl’s collection. You can make a donation between September 7th to September 14th.
All profits will be donated to SÜPRMARKT to help support their activity in battling food apartheid.
Winners of the charity giveaway from Errolson and Karl’s collection will be contacted on September 16th.
