2018 "New Vintage" Editorial
Our 2018 "New Vintage" Editorial is set amidst the lucid haze of an unknown coastline, just a few miles past a quiet, dead-end highway. The surrounding unkempt infrastructures draw upon a familiar tone that's reflective of burnished patinas, heavy-duty canvas, vintage embroidery and Navajo-white slub cotton. Featured styles include an array of bold prints and reworked workwear silhouettes that riff on the aesthetic style codes of traditional Japanese warehouse-heritage.
Our assemblage of standout pieces feature tropes of graphic motifs with reverence to Nigo's Tokyo boutique diner, Curry Up, in conjunction with Human Made; alongside Kyle Ng's Californian design collective, Brain Dead; while pieces from AMBUSH, Maison Margiela and LOEWE refine the rugged looks. There's the Brain Dead x Carhartt WIP Overalls that feature a graffiti-inspired print at the left leg, LOEWE Belt Pleated Oversize Jeans, the Maison Margiela Polyester Rodier track jacket, deconstructed with multi-paneled nylon swatches and exposed seams. Vintage-American-style cartoons show up on soft cotton fabric paying tribute to the curly-mustached Curry Up mascot, the restaurant's menu as well as food. Other pieces like the gold AMBUSH Hand Pendant, LOEWE Anagram T-shirt and the Carhartt x Brain Dead Logo Cap round out the highlights.
