Stone Island returns with an array of new garment treatments that enliven its 2018 Spring/Summer Collection. Taking military and sportswear cues, research in advanced fabrics have been drawn from Stone Island's archive for the warmer months ahead. Various technical applications such as hand-brushed color treatments and Nylon Metal Watro technology grace this inaugural line-up.
The Nylon Metal Watro technology can be seen on the hooded jacket, taken from the Stone Island archive — ART. 681545047. The Nylon Metal is a signature textile that has been considered one of the most versatile fabrics within the label's history. Packing a trilobate structure, its nylon yarn, grey weft and white warp colors make up the base of the treatment bringing out its distinctive metallic and tonic sheen.
Another production technique seen in this season is the hand-brushed color treatment. Exhibiting a "color corrosion" effect, the new dyeing process gives the garment a lived-in look that still feels refined. Pastel hues such as salmon, faded-grey, beige and light green are given a brighter accent for the summer; darker tones like olive, pewter, ink and army green are set in contrast.
