The brand began with Kichachiro Onitsuka's commitment to promoting youth health through sport and since then, the Onitsuka Tiger stripes have become synonymous with premium performance in sport.
I Love Ugly originated as an art collective specializing in illustration and graphic design. With the mission to create the “best products in the world,” New Zealand-based label recreates classic garments with their own special, at times eccentric twist.
Inspired by the diverse terrain of New Zealand, I Love Ugly and Onitsuka Tiger has joined forces to showcase the North and South Islands through shoes. The lighter canvas version takes inspiration from the North Island's unique characteristics. Predominantly white with grey accents and red cross-stitching, this colorway alludes to the fiery nature of the active volcanic thermal areas, rugged west coast beaches and island sanctuaries immersed within sprawling landscapes.
