London-based streetwear label maharishi just dropped a military-inspired collection for the spring/summer season. Last year, maharishi took inspiration from the pacifist philosophies of Tibetan monks, but this season the brand has gone in a radically different direction. The collection draws heavily on the uniforms of jungle warfare used in Africa and Vietnam, with bold maharishi flair. Military silhouettes such as the bomber jacket and the pocket shirt are richly embroidered with leopard and dragon motifs - a maharishi signature. While the color palette naturally leans towards olive green and camo, there are unexpected hits of blush pink within the collection. Continuing with the brand’s pacifist ethos, the collection features a variety of anti-war slogans juxtaposed against military styles for maximum effect.
