In celebration of its 100th anniversary, Monza-based outerwear label Colmar has tapped artist Joshua Vides to create a custom capsule.
The heritage brand, which also recently released a short documentary for the occasion, first linked up with the 33-year-old creative in 2022. "I usually start collaborations with a specific idea in mind," Vides spoke of the team-up. "I don't like to overthink it. I give myself the freedom to react to the stimuli of the moment and create the concept on the spot. In this particular case, I thought about what an artist has in common with an athlete: the idea of constant creativity in finding solutions, the best possible ones, to react to failure. The satisfaction of winning after several times, of standing on a podium and getting back up after a defeat."
The capsule is comprised of 10 garments fusing Vides' signature aesthetic along with Colmar's classic designs. Leading the collection are two jackets and a reversible padded vest, printed in black and white on one side and all-black on the other. On the back of the garment is Colmar's very first logo from 1923 reproduced by Vides. The range further includes two caps highlighted with trompe l'oeil ski goggles, a logo scarf, a sweatshirt and a pair of cotton pants gauzed on the inside, as well as a T-shirt with gold medals around the neck.
The full collection sees Colmar's iconic logo updated in Vides' black-and-white style in variations of the brand's signature white, red and blue colors.
The Joshua Vides x Colmar 100th Anniversary collection is available on HBX in both men's and women's styles.
