Co-founding #BEENTRILL alongside Virgil Abloh of Off-White and Matthew M. Williams of ALYX, it was only right that Heron Preston and his namesake, would also enter the landscape as a modern-day pioneer of streetwear. Here we introduce the Heron Preston 2018 Spring/Summer "SHOW HOUSE" Collection.
New York City — with its hyper-diverse population — is home to a wellspring of divergent cultures: From irreverent skateboarding youths to blue-collar civil servants, people from all walks of life have nestled up against the Big Apple. Particularly for Heron, the city serves as a waking mood board that culls inspiration between his love for streetwear and idyllic vision for a cleaner, more sustainable world. Last season, for example, we saw a unique collaboration with DSNY (New York City Department of Sanitation) to produce reworkings of worker uniforms. Through this, he was able to instill a sense of utilitarianism while giving back credit to the streets the people within.
The latest Heron Preston 2018 Spring/Summer "SHOW HOUSE" Collection shares some similarities from its predecessor. Graphics of the Great White Heron Bird by John James Aubudon return on various accessories, tees and a crewneck sweater. Color-blocking is done up in hues of neon orange as a reference utilitarianism, while the Russian text "cтиль" (which translates to style) is emblazoned throughout the collection — track pants, hoodies, vests and anoraks are presented in tandem.
