Designer Kenzo Takada was one of the foremost pioneers of Japanese fashion in the West, transplanting elements of traditional folk costumes into high fashion. Kenzo was taken over by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon of Opening Ceremony in 2011, and has since become known for its vibrant prints and playful renditions of Japanese motifs.
